The Bestwick Foundation

The Bestwick Foundation was established by Jamie Bestwick (President), Steve Greer (Secretary) and Dan Rallis (Treasurer), incorporated on July 14, 2011 and assigned an EIN. The corporation is organized to operate exclusively at all times for the benefit of, to perform the functions of, or to carry out the purposes of the Bestwick Foundation. The Bestwick Foundation is a publically supported organization described under Section 509 (a) (1) of the Internal Revenue Code which is tax exempt as an organization described in Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The purpose for which the corporation is organized is to primarily provide financial support for individuals and families dealing with cancer within the Centre County (Pa) Region. Additionally, the Foundation will also evaluate and provide discretionary support for needy organizations, families, and individuals in the community, especially in support of youth and health development.

The Bestwick Foundation is registered as a charitable organization with the Department of State’s (PA) Bureau of Charitable Organization (No. 42105) and is authorized to solicit charitable contributions under The Solicitation of Funds for Charitable Purposes Act. The Foundation submitted an Application for Recognition of Exemption (Form 1023) on July 12, 2012, and is now recognized as an organization exempt from taxation under Section 501 (c) of the Internal Revenue Code from the date of its incorporation as a Nonprofit Corporation (July 14, 2011).

The Bestwick Foundation has held a number of charitable events since its incorporation and has subsequently provided financial support to families and individuals in the Centre Region. The Foundation has also delivered monetary and in-kind assistance to organizations in the area. In 2012 and 2013, the Foundation has afforded over $70,000 to the following beneficiaries:
